Book details Cowell's love life

Sharon Osbourne Slams Simon Cowell Over New Book

"Every girl wants to be number one and they're very territorial. I like the fight, because otherwise I'd have a dull group of girlfriends."

Some drivel from Simon Cowell, according to the UK Sun.

Simon Cowell's sex life: four words to make your blood run cold.

Nonetheless, that's the subject of Tom Bower's new book: Sweet Revenge: The Intimate Life of Simon Cowell. Ha, ha, go on, I hear you saying, how many women could there possibly be with that level of iron-clad lust? Rather more than anyone would imagine, apparently.

For starters, the book has Cowell sleeping with Dannii Minogue when the two were hosting Britain's The X-Factor together. If this wasn't salacious enough, Sharon Osbourne - a former X-Factor judge - has gone on to accuse Cowell of three-timing his former fiance Mezhgan Hussainy with a couple of other women.

Cowell has not responded to Ozzy's better half; in other romantic Cowell news, according to one report, he did just give Miss Hussainy an $8 million house.

As for the book, it includes details of Cowell's former girlfriends: models, a Page Three girl, make-up artists, media presenters and at least one lap-dancer. It also purports that Cowell was robbed by a woman he had a one-night stand with. It all sounds a bit downmarket, but never mind.

Here's the point: Although the book is being described as an unauthorized tell-all, Bower claims he spent about 200 hours talking to Cowell at his office and on his yacht. This means that Cowell may have broken the cardinal rules of bad behaviour: (a) Never kiss and tell; and (b) Discretion is the better part of not getting caught.

Anyone hoping to get away with doing the wrong thing on a regular basis went ahead and memorized those guidelines during adolescence.

Everyone will be talking about Simon Cowell now, but it won't help his TV show, make him more attractive or help him grow taller.

As Cowell's publicist, Max Clifford, has said of his client on UK television, "It's open season now." Indeed it is, Mr. Clifford.
