I am Jack’s rising anticipation.

More details have been released surrounding the heavily anticipated (or heavily dreaded) graphic novel sequel to Chuck Palahniuk’s bellowed Fight Club novel.

Palahniuk will be teaming up with Matt Fraction (Hawkeye, Sex Criminals) to pen the official sequel.

“The graphic novel "script" for the Fight Club sequel has gone off to the writer Matt Fraction and to an unnamed publisher for review,” Palahniuk wrote on his official blog.

Although Palahniuk refuses to state the name of the publisher, considering Fraction has been in a long term relationship with Image comics (the publisher behind his Sex Criminals and Satellite Same series), it’s pretty safe to assume Image will take the reins on the project.

Which is fantastic news for both Fight Club and graphic novel aficionados. Not only will Image preserve the tone Palahniuk has set in his previous work, but they also won’t be inclined to censor any of the art or writing that comes from the boundary pushing team.

Palahniuk also confirmed that as of right now, there is no concrete artist signed up for inking the sequel, but will be chosen in collaboration with Fraction and the unnamed publishers.

Considering Palahniuk is such a huge fan of Sex Criminals and Fraction’s other work, there is a high possibility Fraction’s artist and twitter partner in crime Chip Zdarsky may be tagged for the project.

Lastly, Palahniuk confirmed the graphic novel wouldn’t just be a onetime release, but an ongoing series.

“The sequel will consist of seven issues, totally more than 210 pages,” he said.

The sequel will focus on “Cornelius” (the name he’s decided to give the narrator since FOX owns Jack) and Marla’s monotonous relationship. Marla begins rummaging through the large collection of medications Cornelius takes to keep Tyler at bay, inevitably unleashing the terror of Tyler once again and wreaking havoc on their lives once more.

As of right now, there is no estimated release date for the series.
