Sandra Bullock turned the air blue at the Critics Choice Movie Awards in Santa Monica, California on Thursday night when a technical glitch cut off her acceptance speech.

The star landed the Best Actress in an Action Movie honour for Gravity, but was interrupted as she jokingly thanked Jackie Chan, Sylvester Stallone and Jean-Claude Van Damme "for teaching me everything I know", adding, "It's not easy doing what we do, people".

A Tannoy announcement cut her off, so Bullock lost her cool and said, "What the f**k?", much to the amusement of the Barker Hangar audience.

She then added, "I'm an action hero. You do not do that to an action hero."
