Scottish singing sensation Susan Boyle is hoping to make some extra cash after applying for a part-time job at a betting shop in her hometown.

The I Dreamed a Dream hitmaker was spotted checking out a help wanted poster at bookmaker Ladbrokes last week.

Jessica Bridge of Ladbrokes confirms Boyle's inquiry to People magazine and reveals, "We were shocked... when Susan asked about the part-time vacancy. She once applied for a job with us before hitting the big time, so it's good to see she's still dreaming the dream of working for Ladbrokes."

Boyle was asked to apply online, and she was told the position would require her to work a 16-hour week, for which she would be paid around $10 per hour.

The singer embarks on a U.K. tour in March.
