Former child stars Danica McKellar and Candace Cameron-Bure had an awkward moment while training for U.S. competition show Dancing With the Stars last week when the Full House actress revealed her old boyfriend had dumped her for The Wonder Years beauty.

The two actresses met at rehearsals and their pleasant encounter, which was caught on camera, turned a little frosty when they realised they had a former boyfriend in common.

McKellar confessed both girls had dated Growing Pains star Jeremy Miller, prompting Cameron-Bure to reveal, "That's right. Now I remember a phone call I got from Jeremy Miller saying, 'We're breaking up, because I have a new girlfriend and her name's Danica.'"

Blindsided by the big reveal, McKellar tells U.S. news show Access Hollywood, "We were, like, 13 years old and I didn't even know that they'd been going out before... Going out, that means holding hands back then."

Meanwhile, following Monday night's Dancing With the Stars show, which featured the moment the former teenage love rivals met, Cameron-Bure told the TV show she couldn't be mad at McKellar, stating, "I watched The Wonder Years and in that pilot episode, I was like, 'I wanna be Winnie Cooper (McKellar's character), she's so beautiful!'"

The show's editors also reached out to Miller, who said, "I don't quite remember it that way but it was 25 or so years ago, so Candace, you may have it completely right, and if I did that, bad form on me... That was really uncool if that's what I did."

Seeing her ex onscreen again, McKellar revealed, "He was my first boyfriend (and) my first offscreen kiss... (We dated for) nine months... He was a sweetheart."
