Well...mylove, I missed your 70th birthday...but I hope you have a wonderful birthday this year! I've loved you and your heartfelt music and lyrics in the early 70's and I still very much love them today. Thank you for sharing your talents with the world. From your #1 fan! ...still waiting for you to come to San Antonio, Texas.

Happy 71st (early) Gordon. I just had my 55th. I've been a fan since 1971 when i was 16 and heard "If You Could Read My Mind" on local radio in Indianapolis.
Once had your whole 1970s WB catalog from Sit Down Young Stranger to Endless Wire on LPs. Divorce removes a lot of things from your life. Sir, your music touches me as few other writers can. If i may say so in a "christian brother hood" way, I love you. May God grant you many more productive years, Live for God, Country, and Family, in that order. "Live long and prosper..."
PS Saw you in "Jack Black" days (1982?) and i forgive you (Laughing) as i was making love to a "Mary Jane"...LOL

Happy [belated] birthday Gord. You have always amazed me with the lyrics to your songs,I think you are one of the best singers ever, but you ARE the #1 song writer by far.

Dear Gord,
Belated Best Wishes on your 70th birthday! Our mutual friend, Dave Beckett reaches the big 70 in January and I in May. Hard to believe we were listening to you at the Club of Two Levels at Owaisa Lodge on Lake Couchiching 50 years ago. I still have in my possession your first album, which was recorded at the Village Corner on Jan. 20, 1962 when you and Terry appeared as "The Two Tones". Memories of hearing you and Terry break into renditions of Copper Kettle, Kilgarry Mountain, and The Fox while sitting around a campfire sharing some cold ones are still crystal clear. My wife, who grew up in Northern Ontario and went to University in Minnesota has told me her stories of "introducing" you to the U.S. in the 60's- she would play your records in the dorm and then go home to Canada and buy albums to bring back for those who heard them and loved the songs- before they were widely available in the U.S.!
Thanks again for the entertainment in Assemblies at ODVCI and for continuing to entertain the world!

What's there to say, this man needs no introduction, his soothing melodies over the years are heartfelt. Your the best.

My grade five teacher played Gordon Lightfoot records in class. He's a Canadian song writer/musician/singer legend. No doubt one can understand his lyrics clearly when he sings them.Has some great songs too!.

Sorry this is late but you were remembered on Nov 17th. You will forever be my favourite composer and performer...your lyrics are magical..and sometimes mysterious..Affair on 8th Avenue is just one example..and Walls... well no words suffice.I am so relieved you are now well and healthy .. you gave us all a HUGE scare not too long ago. Please come back to Orillia soon, we can walk the Lightfoot trail together if you'd like..
God Bless you for being a true Canadian and for representing our wonderful Country so remarkably over all the years. Proud to have met you Gord.Love Ya..
