Taylor Swift has ended her rumoured romance with Twilight hunk Taylor Lautner, according to a U.S. tabloid report.

The country singer/actress, 20, has remained coy about claims she's been secretly dating Lautner, 17, after they grew close on the set of upcoming movie Valentine's Day.

But after just a few months, the couple is no more, reports Us Weekly magazine.

A source close to Swift says, "It wasn't really developing into anything, and wasn't going to, so they decided they were better as friends.

"There was no chemistry, and it felt contrived... They plan to stay friends."

A representative for Swift has declined to comment on the report.
