Songstress-turned-actress Mandy Moore will play Diane Keaton's daughter in the comedy "Because I Said So," Variety reports.

Keaton will play an over-zealous mother who makes goes on a mission to find the perfect man for her oldest daughter Milly (Moore).

Michael Lehmann ("Heathers") will direct the film with production set to begin in early December in Los Angeles.

Moore will next be seen starring opposite Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson in the musical comedy "Southland Tales."
