Winnipeg native Nia Vardalos ("My Big Fat Greek Wedding") is set to write the film "Talk of the Town," with Tom Hanks in the starring role.

Vardalos told Variety: "Tom will play a man who is forced into a career change when he least expects it."

Hanks will also produce the film, while Vardalos is not scheduled to appear.

Vardalos also told Variety that a second "Greek Wedding" is in the works. "I've understood the desire for a sequel, because I hear it all the time from my family and everyone I run into at Starbucks."
