Even though "Superman Returns" will not hit theatres until the summer, a sequel to the highly anticipated comic book remake is already in the works, according to Variety.
The man who will don the blue tights, actor Brandon Routh, is expected to return for the sequel, with helmer Bryan Singer ("X-Men") already on board to direct.
Also, a second installment of last summer's blockbuster hit "Batman Begins" is also being planned, with Christopher Nolan ("Memento") back to direct and Christian Bale ("American Psycho") slated to make his return to the bat cave.
The next "Batman" installment is expected to hit theatres in 2008 with "Superman" to be released the following year.
"Superman Returns" will hit theatres on June 30.
