Uma Thurman has signed on to star in the romantic comedy "The Accidental Husband," Variety reports.

The story centres on a psychologist (Thurman) who gets engaged, only to find out that she is already hitched. When she tracks down her rogue husband, she becomes conflicted over which man to spend the rest of her life with.

Griffin Dunne ("Addicted to Love," "Practical Magic") has been appraoched to direct the film.

"The Accidental Husband" is scheduled to begin shooting in New York this fall.

Thurman will be seen next in Ivan Reitman's romantic comedy "My Super Ex-Girlfriend."
