Actors Sean Bean ("Flightplan") and Tilda Swinton ("The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe") will pair up in "Come Like Shadows," Variety reports.

The film is an adaptation of Shakespeare's "Macbeth" and will remain a period piece, but it will be user-friendly to a contemporary audience.

Bean will play Macbeth, a role he perfected on the London stage three years ago while Swinton will play Lady Macbeth.

John Maybury ("The Jacket") will direct the film, which will begin shooting in late fall in Scotland.

Swinton will next be seen in "Michael Clayton" with George Clooney.
