McShane joins Zellweger on 'Case 39'

Ian McShane

"Deadwood" star Ian McShane is joining Rene Zellweger in the horror-thriller "Case 39," Variety reports.

The film revolves around a social worker (Zellweger) who saves an abused 10-year-old girl from her parents, but later discovers things are not as they seem.

McShane will play the policeman who helps Zellweger's character probe the case.

"Case 39", which is being directed by German helmer Christian Alvart, will begin shooting at the end of the month in Vancouver.

McShane will next be seen in Woody Allen's romantic comedy "Scoop," which hits Canadian theatres on July 28.
