A film starring Tilda Swinton was among 18 added yesterday to next month's Toronto International Film Festival. Swinton, who won a supporting-actress Oscar last year for her role in Michael Clayton, stars in I Am Love, from Italian director Luca Guadagnino.
Making its North American premiere, I Am Love is one of seven new entries in the Visions program. It's a drama about what happens when a woman who belongs to a rich family has a romantic liaison with her son's best friend.
It's not a mainstream role for Swinton, because movies shown in the Visions program are made by filmmakers "who push the boundaries and challenge our notions of mainstream cinema."
