Katie Holmes and husband Tom Cruise were forced to move from the VIP area of The Romantics premiere party after a pushy fan reportedly refused to leave the superstar couple alone.

The Dawson's Creek actress is the star and executive producer of the new romantic comedy, and joined cast and crew for a special screening in New York on Tuesday night.

The guests then descended on the Big Apple's Park Avenue Gansevoort Hotel for an afterparty, where Holmes and Cruise relaxed in a VIP area near the hotel's pool.

But the pair was forced to flee when an uninvited woman started bothering them after sneaking past security, according to New York Post gossip column PageSix.

A source tells the publication Holmes was overheard saying, "I had to tell that girl off. She was obnoxious!"
