Oscar winner Jeff Bridges and moviemaker Peter Bogdanovich are to reteam for a sequel to classic 1971 film The Last Picture Show.

The movie star has revealed iconic western author Larry McMurtry is working on screenplays to three books he penned in connection to the film, which also starred a young Cybill Shepherd.

He says, "I was just in Texas with Peter and we're hoping to do the next installments. Larry McMurtry has written three more of those books. That would be wonderful."
