Actor Liam Hemsworth is still livid about the criticism his girlfriend Miley Cyrus faced for joking about her love of marijuana at her 19th birthday party last year.

The singer/actress' birthday bash in November became big news when video footage of her cheeky speech surfaced online.

In the clip, Cyrus made reference to reports she was a 'pot head' when she was presented with her cake, which featured the likeness of reggae legend Bob Marley.

She quipped, "You know you’re a stoner when friends make you a Bob Marley cake - you know you smoke way too much f**kin' weed."

Gossip bloggers reported what they considered an admission of her marijuana use, and Hemsworth is still angry about the controversy.

He tells Details magazine, "She's in a room full of her best friends and you have one person who comes in there and videos it. The poor girl can't have one night where she can feel safe in her own world. It's ridiculous."

Cyrus faced similar criticism recently when photos of her posing suggestively with a penis-shaped cake at Hemsworth's 22nd birthday party in January (12) hit the internet.

Conservative groups in America condemned her actions, calling them "disgusting" and "sleazy".
