An interview with Megan Fox was cut short on Thursday when British TV personality Steve Jones breached guidelines by asking the actress about baby rumours.
The former host of America’s The X Factor was chatting to the Transformers star about her new gig as the face of gadgets store The Sharper Image for U.S. news show Entertainment Tonight when he asked Fox about her favourite toy.
He then stumped her when he quipped, “Do you know the ultimate gadget that every man wants? A baby.”
Puzzled Fox replied, “A baby?” and then added, “Oh, I know where you’re going with this?”
The actress has yet to address ongoing reports suggesting she is expecting her first child with husband Brian Austin Green.
Jones pressed on and asked, “Any plans to give anybody a baby?”
Fox talked over the interviewer and said, “You hear the grumbles... No, no,” before a publicist could be heard urging him to wrap up the interview.
The smooth TV host ended the brief chat by stating, “Either way, Megan, it was a pleasure talking to you.”
Speaking on the show after the interview, Jones joked, “I’d like to formally apologize to Ms. Fox for attacking her with the word baby. Thankfully, there was a publicist there to stop me.”
