ANNA KARENINA

Can the movie be as overwrought as this trailer makes it seem? Never mind -- we already want to see it just for the costumes. Keira Knightly is Anna Karenina, the woman whose passion drives her from her husband Alexei (Jude Law, looking middle-aged and boring for the role) into the arms of Count Vronsky (Aaron Taylor-Johnson), shocking all of society into the bargain. Looks so swooney, in that Tolstoy sort of way.

GRADE: A

TAKEN 2

Remember all those guys Liam Neeson had to kill in Taken? Seems their relative (Rade Serbedzija) wants revenge, so he tracks down our hero, his daughter (Maggie Grace) and his ex-wife (Famke Janssen) in Istanbul and all hell breaks loose. This sequel promises lots of violence, stuff blowing up good and wily Albanians. So many to kill, so little time.

GRADE: B

ROBOT AND FRANK

A story set in the near future. Frank (Frank Langella) is getting elderly, so his kids get him a robot butler/companion to help out. Frank decides to teach the robot how to help him in his former profession: Jewel thief. The two are soon partners in crime. This looks delicious. With James Marsden, Liv Tyler and Susan Sarandon as a librarian who, like Frank, will soon be obsolete.
