Jolie upset with Jane Pitt?
By LIZ BRAUN, QMI Agency

Angelina Jolie is allegedly upset with Jane Pitt, her future mother-in-law, for Mrs. Pitt's opposition to gay marriage.

Brad Pitt's future father-in-law, Jon Voight, has now rushed to Jane Pitt's defence. "Good for her!" said gramps. The tabloids are already casting Angie and Jane in a wet T-shirt grudge match and knives are being drawn by various religious and political groups on both sides. It's a nice change from old reports about how Jane Pitt would never ever stop being BFFs with Jennifer Aniston. (Hey! Is Aniston a Democrat or a Republican? Inquiring minds want to know.)

It's all so exciting! -- except for Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, who have to tolerate each other's families. Until the Jane Pitt letter debacle, in which she urges Christians to vote for Mitt Romney even though he's a Mormon, Miss Jolie's family would appear to be the greater liability and the bigger in-law wild card. Start with that vaguely incestuous kiss she planted on her brother in public. Then there was the period in which Jolie was estranged from her father, Jon Voight, after he appeared on TV and begged her to get help for "her serious mental problems."

Recently, a new book about Mick Jagger alleges that Jolie's late mother, Marcheline Bertrand, was really hoping Angelina would pair up with the wrinkly rock star despite their 126 year age difference. In Mick: The Wild Life and Mad Genius of Jagger, author Christopher Andersen quotes Bertrand's friend Lauren Taines as saying, "Marcheline loved Mick for Angie. She felt that he could teach her about fame and how to handle it."

Sounds creepy.

By comparison, Brad Pitt's family has long looked very normal. Earlier this year, Brad Pitt said of his mother, "She's very, very loving -- very open, genuine, and it's hilarious because she always gets painted in the tabloids as a she-devil. There's not an ounce of malice in her. She wants everyone to be happy."

That's sweet, but it seems Mrs. Pitt may not want happiness for liberals like Barack Obama, who, she says, "Supports the killing of unborn babies and same-sex marriage," although perhaps not at the same time.

There you have the in-law choices for the Jolie-Pitts: Southern Baptist or Northern Eccentric. What fun! And it's all in the family.
