The cause of Sage Stallone’s death will remain a mystery for another two months after an initial autopsy proved inconclusive.

Sylvester Stallone's eldest son was found dead in his Los Angeles home on Friday and an investigation formally opened as a post-mortem examination was completed on Sunday.

However, a spokesperson for the L.A. County Coroner tells CNN that officials still require the results of toxicology tests, which normally take at least six weeks, to determine what killed the 36 year old.

Sage's lawyer George Braunstein has denied reports his client overdosed on prescription drugs.
