Katie Holmes has cancelled her first planned public appearance since filing for divorce from Tom Cruise.
The actress was due to walk the red carpet at an event for her Dizzy Feet Foundation in Los Angeles on Saturday, but her representative has now confirmed to E! News that the star will not be attending.
Holmes set up the organization in 2009 with choreographer Carrie Ann Inaba and So You Think You Can Dance judges Nigel Lythgoe and Adam Shankman, following her appearance on the show in 2009. She returned as a guest judge last year.
The charity raises money for youth dance education in the U.S. and the Celebration of Dance event at the Los Angeles Music Center's Dorothy Chandler Pavilion will feature performances by Glee stars Harry Shum, Jr. and Chord Overstreet, as well as the cast of new movie Step Up Revolution.
Holmes has kept out of the spotlight since she filed for divorce from Cruise, the father of her six-year-old daughter Suri, on June 27 to bring their five-year marriage to an end.
