Lindsay Lohan has spoken out to assure fans she is recovering well following her hospitalization on Sunday, revealing she was struggling with a bout of pneumonia while filming her role in ‘Scary Movie 5’.

The actress was admitted to Mt. Sinai medical centre in New York on Sunday and she has now confirmed the potentially-deadly lung infection was to blame for her health scare.

Lohan has since been released from the hospital and tells New York Post gossip column Page Six, "I got sick again, but I am all right (now)."

The Mean Girls star also reveals she has been struggling with pneumonia for a while now, but she refused to let her ill health stop her filming the new horror comedy with co-star Charlie Sheen.

She adds, "I have been really sick with pneumonia but I have been working. I have been shooting Scary Movie with Charlie Sheen."

Lohan goes on to insist she picked up some useful tips from the former Two and a Half Men star: "He was really great to work with and gave me some good advice about surviving in this business."
