Gosling, Cameron on 'Influential' list
By QMI Agency

Three Canadians made the list of the Top 49 Most Influential Men, as determined by more than half a million votes worldwide.

So did two fictional characters, a skydiver and a prince.

AskMen.com released its 2012 list Wednesday, having asked readers to decide "which male figures have made the biggest impact and, ultimately, shaped what it means to be a man of influence in 2012."

Titanic and Avatar director James Cameron, a native of Kapuskasing, Ont., came in at No. 41.

Joining music megastars like Jay-Z, Kanye and Snoop Lion is singer/rapper Drake, from Toronto, at No. 34.

And cracking the top of the list is London, Ont.-born heartthrob Ryan Gosling, coming in at No. 10.

Athletes figured prominently on this year's list, including Tim Tebow (44), Andy Murray (33), Michael Phelps (12) and Usain Bolt (2), as well as Felix Baumgartner, whose attempt to skydive from a height of 37 km is set to take place Sunday.

President Barack Obama, at No. 11, topped his Republican opponent Mitt Romney, who came in at No. 24. But both were surpassed by Bill Clinton, at No. 3.

Prince William made the list at No. 20.

But he was beaten out by two romantic figures who don't really exist: the 50 Shades of Grey protagonist Christian Grey, at No. 13, and the No. 1 most influential man of the year, James Bond.
