There are just 10 days remaining until Halloween, and, if you still haven't decided on a costume, fear not, because here in Tinseltown, where Oct. 31 is regarded with a reverence that is second only to Oscar night, we can suggest plenty of hip and happening options.

Where folks might have gone Gaga in the night last year, the 2012 musical cue seems to be all about Gangnam Style, as cultivated by the South Korean Internet sensation/fashion trendsetter, PSY.

The pop culture factor will also be responsible for a glut of Honey Boo Boo impersonators, thanks to the Southern-fried moppet's frighteningly rapid ascendancy to the reality throne.

Likewise, more than a couple of couples are expected to make like Anastasia and Christian, complete with all the necessary paraphernalia, courtesy of the Fifty Shades of Grey literary phenomenon.

You should also expect sightings of Patricia Krentcil, better known as the scary Tanning Mom.

For additional hints, we checked in once again with our Halloween go-to guy Steve, manager of Hollywood Toys & Costumes, a Hollywood Blvd. institution since 1950.

From Steve's perspective, peering out from between those racks and racks of choices, superheroes are again taking a commanding lead, with The Avengers, Batman and Spider-Man ahead of the pack -- no surprise considering their stellar performance at the box office this past summer.

But where dressing up as comic book heroes was previously considered a solo proposition, this year group dynamics appear to be the way to go -- clusters of folks have been coming into the store and buying up the entire Avengers collection -- Iron Man, Captain America, the Hulk, etc. -- with the intention of travelling as a super entourage.

And while he won't rival the popularity of Heath Ledger's Joker from the last instalment, the villainous Bane, as seen in The Dark Knight Rises, is also shaping up to be a big seller.

Of course, all things Star Wars continue to be a perennial favourite among both young and old trick-or-treaters, but our buddy Steve is also seeing an odd emerging trend in the form of foods and beverages.

Yep, we're talking stuff like hot dog and hamburger costumes, wearable fruits and vegetables and, particularly popular among the college crowd, beer bottles. Watch out for parading six packs!

The fact that it also happens to be an election year doesn't seem to have the same impact it did four years ago when Sarah Palin masks were responsible for a last-minute sales surge.

But although dressing up as presidential candidates isn't ranking high in the Halloween opinion polls, sales of Big Bird costumes have been spiking thanks to Mitt Romney's dis of the 8-foot-2 Sesame Street mascot during the first of the debates.

And, finally, two of last year's big trends -- zombies and sexy girl get-ups -- have been grafted together for 2012.

Among our fave mashups:

The Sexy Zombie Ghoul Scout Costume, the Sexy Zombie Snow White Costume and, especially, the Amy Winehouse Scary Zombie Rehab Costume.

From Honey Boo Boo to Bane to Big Bird -- it's gonna be that kind of Hollyween!
