Actress Naomi Watts faced her crippling fear of the ocean head on to film scenes for her upcoming movie The Impossible.
Watts stars as a real-life tsunami survivor in the new disaster epic, which tells the story of vacationer Maria Belon struggling to find her family in Thailand in the wake of the massive tragedy in 2004.
Most of the ocean shots were completed in an enormous tank in Spain, where the beauty was tossed around by large waves and debris, and the 44 year old confesses it brought back horrible childhood memories of a time when she got caught up in a rough ocean current and had to be rescued by her brother.
She tells TheWrap.com, "I was 14, my brother was 15, and as a result I've always had a fear of the waves."
