How else to explain the resurfacing of Kevin Costner's Waterworld on the U.S. SyFy channel? The 1995 movie, set in a water-covered Earth even Al Gore couldn't foresee, with Kevin Costner on a raft, breathing through gills and drinking his own filtered urine.
Once the template for a movie bomb (though it apparently broke even on video), it's become a cable hit of late, racking up 400,000 viewers per screening, according to Forbes.
The uptick has the network talking series, and maybe even a movie "reboot."
