Tom Cruise appears next month in 'Jack Reacher,' which is adapted from Lee Child's 'One Shot.'
Forget that he has the biggest movie star on the planet playing the title character in the film adaptation of his long-running series of crime novels.
Lee Child is just happy his fictional hero, Jack Reacher, is finally on the big screen.
After a long gestation period in Hollywood, an adaptation of Child's 2005 novel One Shot, retitled Jack Reacher, is in theatres starring Tom Cruise.
"The movie totally works for me," Child tells QMI Agency. "(Writer-director Christopher McQuarrie) wrote a great script. "I think in the history of Hollywood, this is the least-altered first draft ever."
And One Shot hit all the right buttons for a movie adaptation, he says.
"It combines a solid procedural story with a lot of action."
