Naomi Watts was 14 and on holiday in Bali when she nearly drowned. Not too surprisingly, she's still afraid of the water.
That didn't stop the actress from spending six weeks submerged in two different tanks to make The Impossible, a film about a family attempting to survive the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami. The actress says it's the hardest work she's ever done.
"When I wasn't in the water, I was in pain or in a high-pitched emotional state," says Watts, 44. "Before this, I'd say King Kong was the most physically and emotionally demanding role, and I remember promising myself not to do it ever again."
