Mark Wahlberg once said he thought he'd retire by the time he was 40. He was wrong.
This year alone, Wahlberg, 41, will help reinvent Michael Bay's Transformers, work on a TV show about the Cold War, star in at least five films, produce a few others and create a project with Justin Bieber.
One of his 2013 films is Broken City, the crime drama opening Friday that brought him through Toronto recently. He calls the movie, "My second big passion project after The Fighter."
In Broken City, Wahlberg plays Billy Taggart, an ex-cop with a dodgy past. He gets hired by the mayor of New York (Russell Crowe) to investigate a domestic situation, but finds himself involved in a much bigger game of real estate, corruption in high places and murder.
