The doctor is in. Mads Mikkelsen is currently a physician on the big screen and the small, playing a gifted 18th century healer in the film A Royal Affair, and a charismatic killer therapist in TV's Hannibal.
The Danish superstar is 100% convincing in both roles, but no surprise there.
Mikkelsen, 47, has been living in Toronto for several months filming Hannibal, the highly anticipated TV series about the mentoring relationship between an FBI profiler (Hugh Dancy) investigating serial killers, and the esteemed psychiatrist hired to help him -- Dr. Hannibal Lecter.
The drama, which is from Pushing Daisies creator Bryan Fuller, has Laurence Fishburne, Gillian Anderson, Scott Thompson and Eddie Izzard in the cast.
