BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. -- To hear Emmy Rossum tell it, you can't always judge booking a role by the audition.
In order to land the part of Ridley, the brazenly seductive but evil Siren who stirs up trouble wherever she goes in the supernatural romance Beautiful Creatures, Rossum was required to learn a 14-page chunk of the script, culminating in a lengthy monologue.
"I practiced it so many times because it was such a long scene," recalls Rossum, "and I was, like, saying it in my sleep the night before the audition. Then I went in and really felt like, 'Oh, I'm totally nailing this! I'm totally getting this part!' "
