Duhamel, 40, co-stars with Julianne Hough in the romantic drama Safe Haven, and when he and she sat down in Toronto recently to promote their movie, Hough proved to be bubbly and chatty while Duhamel was ultra-chill.
He also has old-fashioned manners and hesitates to interrupt. In his line of work, that's almost unheard-of.
Hough stars in Safe Haven as a woman on the run from an abusive relationship. Duhamel co-stars as the supportive, loving widower she meets and learns to trust. The romantic drama opens on Valentine's Day.
Safe Haven, he says, "is something Nicholas Sparks' fans will like. It's a more grown-up version of things he's done before, a bit darker."
