At 30, after teen movie stardom, she has matured into a beautiful woman. With the adventures of her troubled private life -- none her fault -- she has banked tons of public good will. With her willingness to take acting risks that reflect her complexity, she has emerged as a bona fide actress.
That last but most significant element was reinforced with her work in the emotionally charged drama, Rachel Getting Married. This 2009 film generated Hathaway's first Oscar nomination, as best actress. For 2012, she could easily have been nominated twice: for The Dark Knight Rises as well.
