Out of nowhere, a rumor spread quickly across the internet Tuesday. Of course, for it to spread so fast, it must be about something of the utmost importance. In this instance, that's absolutely the case, as the online world can't seem to stop talking about a possible "Toy Story 4."
While a fourth installment of the "Toy Story" franchise seems like a no-brainer, based on the boatloads of money made by "Toy Story 3," neither Disney or Pixar have ever confirmed that it would actually happen. Rumors have popped up, now and then, online, but this is the first time one has gained so much steam, so quickly.
According to Bleeding Cool, the rumor first started in South America, when two Colombian news sources announced the movie was set to be released in 2015, with Tom Hanks, Tim Allen, and Joan Cusack returning. Disney and Pixar are both being very quiet on the matter, saying that nothing official has been announced, and that they're looking into just how the rumor started, BuzzFeed reports. It seems most are viewing this as exactly what it is, an unconfirmed report with no facts to support it.
Though, hundreds are also using the opportunity to tweet the same "'Toy Story 4' will be about lazy kids playing with iPads" joke over, and over again, as well.
