Actress Michelle Williams has ended her romance with Jason Segel after barely a year of dating, according to new U.S. reports.

The fiercely-private Brokeback Mountain beauty was first photographed with the comedian in March, 2012, and they went public with their relationship a month later (Apr12) at the New York afterparty for Segel's romantic comedy, The Five-Year Engagement.

Williams recently broke her silence about the new man in her life in an interview with InStyle magazine, gushing, "He is nice... I didn't actually realise who he was before I started dating him... I didn't realize he made a lot of very popular, funny movies.

However, it appears the couple has since parted ways - editors at UsMagazine.com claim Williams and Segel quietly split earlier this month after struggling to maintain the long-distance relationship. The actress lives in the Big Apple with her daughter Matilda, while the funnyman is based in Los Angeles.

The news comes just weeks after the stars were spotted on vacation in Cancun, Mexico with Williams' best pal Busy Philipps and her family.
