As Glinda the Good Witch, she can be often seen floating high above the land of Oz in a giant bubble, but back here in the real world, Michelle Williams remains refreshingly grounded.
And while taking on the treasured Billie Burke role in Oz the Great and Powerful allowed the indie-minded actress to try a big-budget fantasy on for size, it wasn't always a comfortable fit.
"I think I was probably happiest doing this movie called Wendy and Lucy," confides Williams, who, at age 32, possesses that same, fresh-scrubbed Montana-bred naturalness that first caught our eye on Dawson's Creek.
"I wore corduroy cut-offs and sneakers and a shirt every day. You just feel so mobile. Whereas (in) a movie like this, you have to take your costume off to eat lunch and then get it back on. It's like you have a toothache all day. But I also want to try new things, so if that requires a certain kind of armature, that's OK."
