Considering their work on the first Spider-Man trilogy, you'd expect to hear director Sam Raimi and star James Franco already had a handy shorthand before shooting Oz The Great and Powerful.
Truth is, they had -- and they hadn't.
"Yes, we learned to trust each other more and more as the years went on," confirms Raimi. "But it was still an absolutely brand new experience working with him as the lead in this picture."
How so?
"I really get into the heads of my lead heroes and work very, very closely with them," Raimi continues. "Because James played the best friend of Peter Parker in the Spider-Mans as someone who was trying to kill him -- and I really don't like guys trying to kill my heroes!"
