The Irish actor could join Sylvester Stallone in a future installment in the action movie franchise.

In an interview with Shortlist.com, Pierce Brosnan revealed that "The Expendables" producer Avi Lerner had offered him a role in a future film in the franchise, to which he responded "Why not?" The two men recently worked together on the set of the spy thriller "Survivor," which is currently being filmed by director James McTeigue. No formal negotiations or specific details on the possible collaboration have been announced.

The 60-year-old former James Bond seems to be going through a thriller phase. Before "Survivor," Brosnan was on the set of "November Man" and "The Coup." Release dates have not yet been announced for the three features.

In the UK, Brosnan is currently in theaters in "A Long Way Down," the adaptation of the Nick Hornby novel, helmed by French director Pascal Chaumeil. Aaron Paul, Rosamund Pike and Imogen Poots are also in the cast.
