King, 'Lost' exec in 'Tower' talks

Stephen King is in talks with "Lost" executive producer J.J. Abrams about a live-action adaptation of his novel series "Dark Tower."

According to HollywoodReporter.com, there is no word on whether the project will reach the big or small screen.

The story - which is a mixture of fantasy, horror, sci-fi and western genres - spans seven books. This could mean the project is best suited for television, but its potential cost may warrant the cinematic treatment.

Apparently many companies have been after the rights to "Dark Tower," but nothing has materialized because King is looking for strong filmmaker involvement.
