SAN DIEGO, Calif. - As we reported on Sun Media websites yesterday, Lost co-creator J.J. Abrams announced Zachary Quinto and Leonard Nimoy will both portray incarnations of Mr. Spock in Abrams' Star Trek prequel. But the filmmaker also beamed by to briefly address the enigmatic "1-18-08" project he's producing that's generated so much online and geekdom speculation with its Blair Witch Project-meets-Godzilla vibe. (You may have caught the cryptic trailer in front of Transformers.)
"We need our own monster movie," Abrams said, calling King Kong "adorable" but referring to his thriller as "insane and intense ... I've wanted a great monster movie for so long."
