Ben Affleck is set to make his directorial debut in “Gone, Baby Gone,” Variety reports.

The film, an adaptation of the Dennis Lehane novel, centres on a pair of private detectives in a working-class Boston neighbourhood who are searching for a missing 4-year-old girl.

Affleck will not be taking on a role in the movie.

“Gone, Baby Gone” will begin shooting in Boston in the fall.
