TV veteran Alan Alda ("The West Wing," "M.A.S.H") is set to return to the big screen alongside Josh Hartnett ("Lucky Number Slevin") and Samuel L. Jackson ("Freedomland") in the "Resurrecting the Champ," Variety reports.
Director Rod Lurie ("Commander in Chief") will helm the true story about an L.A. reporter who wrote about a homeless man who was once a famed fighter, then found the pugilist wasn't who he claimed to be.
"Champ" will begin shooting in June in Calgary.
Alda's last appeared on the big screen in 2004 with Leonardo DiCaprio in "The Aviator."
