"Scary Movie 3" star Anthony Anderson is in talks to head up the kidnapping comedy "King's Ransom," says The Hollywood Reporter.
In the movie, Anderson would star as a rich, arrogant and generally despised businessman. Realizing he'll lose half his fortune to the obnoxious wife he's trying to divorce, he tries to arrange his own kidnapping to wipe himself out and claim poverty. He soon finds out he may not be the only one with that plan.
Anderson, star of the WB sitcom "All About the Andersons," recently completed work on another film comedy "My Baby's Daddy," with Eddie Griffin and Method Man. The movie is scheduled for release in January.
