Barrymore says divorce won't change friendship with Green
By JAM! Movies

The divorce of unlikely Hollywood couple Tom Green and Drew Barrymore appears to be more than just another one of Green's boy-who-cried-wolf pranks.

New York's Daily News reports that Barrymore is in Canada filming "Confessions Of A Dangerous Mind" with co-star/director George Clooney, and Barrymore's publicist assured the paper that "I don't think the breakup is a hoax."

Green, the Ottawa-born gonzo comedian, married Barrymore a mere six months ago, after a courtship that was punctuated by frequent false-alarm reports of their wedding.

Last week, Green abruptly announced he had filed for divorce, citing "irreconcilable differences" and wishing Barrymore "much happiness."

Yesterday, the Daily News reported Barrymore confirmed the bust-up, saying: "I love Tom very much. He has always been a great friend, and that won't change."

But before a rush of would-be suitors starts sending flowers to Green and Barrymore, consider this: On Monday, Barrymore attended a New Jersey benefit for World Trade Centre victims, sporting her wedding ring, the Daily News said.

And a week earlier, during an appearance on "Access Hollywood," Barrymore said of her relationship with Green: "I am so lucky, it's sickening." Green, for his part, told fellow poker players at Larry Flynt's Hustler Casino last Friday that his was "doing fine."
