Warren Beatty will receive a lifetime achievement trophy at Oscars 2000. Conveniently, that will be before his latest picture, Town And Country, gets its release. Just as well.

Town And Country has been plagued with all sorts of problems, none that Beatty would like to discuss.

Maybe that's because the cost of the feature went from $40 million to $75 million.

And to make matters even more complicated, the Town And Country filmmakers are re-working the ending after some cajoling by the actor-who-would-be-king. Apparently, he wanted his character to come off nicer.

One insider says that Beatty seems incapable of recognizing the difference between an acting performance and how the media perceives him.

Isn't that just like a politician?
