The Oscar-winning actress will portray the key attorney in a case involving the 1999 arrests of 10 per cent of the black population in Tulia, Texas.

The arrests failed to yield any drugs or money, and most of the 46 arrested were pardoned by Texas Gov. Rick Perry last year.

Berry is also set to take on the role of a rape victim in "Their Eyes Were Watching God," a TV movie made by Oprah Winfrey's Harpo Productions.

Berry received minor injuries Saturday after colliding with a piece of set equipment while filming a running scene for "Catwoman" in Vancouver.
