HOLLYWOOD -- Selma Blair has only been acting for five years, but she has a host of stories to tell and she is one uninhibited storyteller.
"My film credits include In and Out, but my scene as Cousin Linda never made it into the film. I'm not complaining. Joan Cusack is my favourite actress and I got to sit around for a month watching her act," recalls Blair.
Her big break came when she was cast as Zoe in the 1999 TV series Zoe, Duncan, Jack & Jane, and then a year later opposite Reese Witherspoon in Cruel Intentions.
"Wonderful, wonderful Reese got me the role of the rich bitch in her Legally Blonde. She has been so loving and kind to me since we met on Cruel Intentions.
"You don't meet many people in this business like her."
When Blair shot the road movie Highway, she developed a crush on her leading man Jake Gyllennhal.
'He's so sexy and so nice. I fell in love with him making that movie. I'm not over it yet. I want everyone who meets him to put in a good word for me," teases Blair, who is currently dating actor Jason Schwartzman.
Blair also shot the controversial movie Storytelling from Todd Solondz, the director of Welcome to the Dollhouse and Happiness.
"With all its nudity, I don't know how I'll ever be able to take my mom to Storytelling. After Storytelling I think I lost any hope of ever being America's sweetheart."
Blair also stars opposite Cameron Diaz and Christina Applegate in the comedy The Sweetest Thing that opens April 12.
