Jeff Bridges has signed on for the film "Iron Man."

According to HollywoodReporter.com, "The Big Lebowski" star will join Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow and Terrence Howard on the big-screen adaptation of the Marvel comic book directed by Jon Favreau.

Bridges will play a close business associate of Downey Jr.'s character Tony Stark (Iron Man).

Filming is set to begin in March, with a tentative May 2, 2008 release date.
