The rumour that homeboy Jim Carrey is playing Jerry Lewis opposite Tom Hanks in Martin Scorsese's Dean Martin biopic appears to be just that -- though The New York Post reported it as fact last week.

Carrey himself told syndicated columnist Liz Smith, "Though I'd love to work with Martin Scorsese, I've never met him. I don't know anything about this project."
